Desalination Solution
Through research, hands-on investigation, and engineering solutions to problems, students will explore many facets of the desalination process. From its impact on the environment to Californians' future water future. They will learn about multiple aspects of desalination, from the human need to the engineering design of a plant. Further, students will consider California's water supply and the cause of long-term, severe droughts, and why large-scale desalination works and its impacts on the environment.
The Energy Coalition will send you hydrometers, a measuring cup, a container of salt, food coloring (optional), plastic wrap, and masking tape to bring this lesson to life.
