Earn college credit or fieldwork hours and get on-the-job training as a Field Educator.

Gain confidence leading a class and teaching energy and STEM topics.

Energy is Everything partners with California universities to create opportunities for college students and adults new to the workforce to earn credit, fieldwork hours, observation hours, and get on-the-job training as Field Educators. As a Field Educator, you’ll lead Lab Day lessons and help Energy Educators to deliver Energy is Everything lessons.

We’ll give you the training you need (available online or in person), including tips and tricks for teaching STEM and how to modify lessons for different grade levels, manage a classroom, adapt on the fly, and coordinate with Energy Educators.

College students and new workers across California are eligible to become Field Educators. It’s a great opportunity for “teachers-in-training”, but we encourage others to join too!

What Past Field Educators Are Saying

“TEC does an incredible job of making the subject/projects both accessible and easy to follow. Although I doubted my ability to teach a science concept, TEC provided me with the tools necessary to teach the lesson with confidence.”

— Rigoberto Delgado Jr, Winter 2021

“[Being a Field Educator] is a very valuable experience because you are allowed to explore your own strategies as well as begin to observe your own teaching style. The most rewarding part was being able to create and deliver a lesson on a topic that I would have found difficult to do without the scaffolding that TEC provided.”

— Melanie Delgado, Winter 2021

“For students who have aspirations and plans to enter the education field, and specifically hands-on teaching, I think that this would be a great opportunity for those students to have as it gives them real-world experience and knowledge from experts that could help them advance and become great in their field.”

— James Butler, Winter 2021

“Through The Energy Coalition, I was able to learn the broader techniques to engage students.”

— Field Educator, Winter 2021

“The most rewarding part of the experience was definitely rewatching the final product I made and just feeling like I was able to become a better teacher through the experience.”

— Robyn Lawr, Winter 2021
