In this lesson, students will learn about how their waste can impact the habitats of plants and animals. Working in groups, they will create a model of a bird species by reusing materials brought from home. Students will discover how the practice of reducing waste saves natural resources, which can also conserve wildlife and their habitats.

Lesson Objective: Students will research a bird species and its habitat. Students will analyze and interpret the data collected to provide their ideas for the necessary steps in sustaining a healthy ecosystem for the bird species. Students will create a model of their bird species to present their findings and arguments.
