The Energy Coalition will send you plastic cups, a measuring cup, drinking water test strips, rubber bands, coffee filters, sand, gravel, and charcoal to bring this lesson to life.
Lesson Objective: Students will design and construct a water purification system to develop a possible solution to the problem of having potable water. This lesson will show the influence of engineering, technology, and science on society and the natural world.
Suggested Teaching Time: 95 mins (can be split between two class periods)
