Renewables All Around Us
Students will create terrain models of their state that identifies and locates renewable resources. To build their models, students will use clay and different colored objects to make three-dimensional relief maps, representing sites with different renewable resources. Students will research the geography of California to determine ideal areas for sourcing solar, wind, hydroelectric, geothermal, and other types of renewable resources that can generate power.
The Energy Coalition will send you boxes of modeling clay to bring this lesson to life.
